Program Information
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has requested ATF's assistance in their ongoing efforts to educate the public on the rules that govern transporting firearms and ammunition aboard commercial airlines. TSA has published a document entitled TSA Public Education Fact Sheet, Transporting Firearms and Ammunition Aboard Commercial Air Carriers, which may be accessed at the link below. We urge anyone who occasionally or regularly transports firearms or ammunition aboard commercial flights to become familiar with the rules outlined in TSA's fact sheet. Knowing the rules can prevent unnecessary delays at airport security and baggage checkpoints for you and your fellow travelers.
