Treasury and State Departments Joint Press Conference on E.O. 13382 Designation

The Departments of State and Treasury will hold a joint press conference at 1:00 p.m. today, September 10, 2008, in the Department of State’s PA Conference Room (room 2208). Acting Assistant Secretary for International Security and Nonproliferation Patricia McNerney, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman, and Director of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Adam Szubin will discuss a Treasury designation under Executive Order 13382. This designation will serve to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1803 of March 2008.

The remarks will be ON THE RECORD but OFF CAMERA.

Final access time for all press: 12:45 p.m. at the 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
