Excess Success Stories
GSA has a number of success stories relating to reutilization of excess personal property. The stories are listed by state and provide insight into the many types of items available to federal agencies in the re-use of federal personal property. Excess personal property is any personal property that is no longer required by the holding agency for the discharge of its responsibilities. When items are no longer needed by an agency, the property is determined to be excess in accordance with current regulations and are reported to GSA for possible transfer to other federal agencies. Each year, millions of taxpayer dollars are saved by managers who acquire excess personal property instead of purchasing new property.
