Welcome to Beyond Penguins and Polar Bears, the online polar science and literacy magazine! We hope you'll enjoy reading these articles, use the resources in your classroom, and share them with your colleagues!

We’ve also started a Beyond Penguins and Polar Bears group in Shelfari - a virtual bookshelf where people can discuss books they’ve read or want to read. Through the Beyond Penguins Shelfari, you have access to selected polar children’s books from the Virtual Bookshelf column of the magazine. Look for the widget on our blog!

Please help us improve the magazine by participating in our online survey. You can enter a monthly drawing for a $50 Amazon gift certificate after taking the survey by providing your email address. Your email will only be used for the drawing, and all responses will be anonymous. Clicking on the survey link indicates your willingness to participate and that you are 18 years of age or older.

Visit our blog for up-to-date news from the polar regions, timely teaching ideas, and professional opportunities. Get an email update every time new content is added to the magazine or blog! Print highlights from the first issues of the magazine!
