Mission

The mission of the Coast Guard Health Services Program is to ensure the medical and dental readiness of all Coast Guard members to maintain ability for world-wide deployment, to provide health care to active duty and reserve members in support of Coast Guard missions, and to ensure the availability of quality, cost effective health care for all eligible beneficiaries.

Vision

The primary responsibility of the Health and Safety Program is the provision of those services necessary to assure member fitness for unrestricted worldwide duty in support of Coast Guard missions and provide commanding officers with the capability to assess unit personnel and material readiness.

Budget And Information Systems

Provides oversight for the management of the Health & Safety Division, detached duty personnel, and PACAREA clinic budgets; in-house and field specific information Systems; program’s enlisted and officer personnel staffing, re-leveling, home porting, and resource proposals; and facility CA (AC&I) construction proposals within PACAREA.

Medical Administration

Provides managed care, TRICARE, health care contracting, medical/dental administration oversight and Medical Information Systems (MIS) technical assistance.

Operational Medicine

Provides medical, dental and pharmacy professional oversight and technical assistance.

Safety, Environmental Health & Food Services Branch

Provides services to ensure accident and injury free operations and to protect the health and safety of members and dependents on the job and at home.

Work Life Programs

Provides oversight and management of the Work Life Program for the USCG with the central focus to improve on the quality of life for Coast Guard personnel and their families. Work Life also contributes to the organizational effectiveness and mission readiness by helping to resolve personal and organizational issues that impact members from their mission focus. The overall program objective remains to support the well-being of active duty, reserve and civilian employees and their family members.
