UI State Performance Excellence Awards
Unemployment Insurance State Performance Excellence Awards are given to the top performers nationwide in key areas of state unemployment insurance (UI) operations.
While states strive to serve well their states' businesses and unemployed workers, the Performance Excellence Awards honor those who have exceeded the UI Core Measures' acceptable levels of performance.
The awards reflect the breadth of the UI system and the performance areas most critical to its success. The Honorees recognized each year have demonstrated top performance in the following categories:
- Timely and proper benefit payments
- Timely and high-quality eligibility decisions
- Timely and high-quality appeals decisions
- Timely new employer accounts and high quality tax operations
The highest achievement in performance nationwide, across all categories combined, is recognized by the Pinnacle Award.
