Dear Board Members:

I am writing concerning the Draft Guidelines on Accessible Rights of Way of June 17. I have been totally blind since my premature birth over 46 years ago, and have been an active member of the National Federation of the Blind since 1975. Blind people travel independently every day all over the US and other parts of the world. Blind people DO NOT need detectible warnings at every street corner or accessible traffic signals at every light. We are trained to stop and listen to parallel and cross traffic to know when it is safe to cross the street. Putting extra noisemakers would be a hindrance and a distraction. I am opposed to these guidelines.
