As a person who is blind and who travels daily in my town and, occasionally in others, I am very much in favor of accessible traffic signals. Although I've never been injured by a vehicle while traveling, I've had many close calls. There is no doubt in my mind that an accessible traffic signal would have prevented these near-incidents and would also help prevent actual accidents which could very well cause injury or even death.
