I am a 41 year old female, and have been visually impaired my entire life. I have used a white cane for mobility for 25 years. I have family members, and a number of friends and acquaintances who are also visually impaired.

Because of the gradual slope on some curb cuts, it is somtimes difficult or even impossible to tell precisely where the street begins. Detectible Warnings would be an advantage in these situations, and would increase my safely level.

At times when traffic flow is not enough to get a good reading of the traffic lights, it is sometimes very difficult to tell when the light has changed to green and the pedestrian light to "walk." My safety and independence as a traveller would be increased by the installation of accessible pedestrian signals, at least at problematic intersections.
