I am a person who is blind, and I have traveled
extensively on subways and trains. I wholeheartedly support detectable
warnings and any other device or audible signal that can make travel safer for
people who are blind.
When I am in a noisy subway station and there are cars coming
and going, my excellent hearing is drastically impeded by the overpowering
sounds of people and moving trains. Even with the best of training and the
sharpest of skills, it's easy to become confused.
Please know that I fervently support the PROWAC Report.
Sincerely,
