I am writing this letter regarding the installation and usage of audible signals.

While working outside for a number of years, one of the buildings I helped to maintain is a school for the visually impaired. I had the opportunity to observe many people first-hand; teachers, students, young and old. In my opinion, these people are doing an awesome job already at crossing intersections, and practicing their cane travels. Without, the use of audible signals.

In fact, I believe that audible signals have a tendency to confuse, agitate and annoy those that are in contact with them, blind or sighted.

In conclusion, any money it would require to install such signals, would be better spent on transportation improvements, as well as more instructors, improved conditions, and continuing growth in education for the visually impaired, as well as sighted persons.

Sincerely,

Loretta Kay Bennett
