Tobacco Prevention Materials, Posters, Signs
Materials are available at no cost through the Oregon Tobacco Education Clearinghouse (OTEC), which is funded by the Oregon Department of Human Services, Public Health Division, Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP). Materials will not be shipped out of the state of Oregon.

Program Reports and State Plans
  • The Tobacco Prevention and Education Program Report is published prior to each legislative session year and describes program results. This report describes the activities and effectiveness of TPEP tobacco control for each biennium.

Special Project Reports
  • Focus Group Report: In 2004 and 2005, TPEP contracted with Grove Insight, an opinion research and communication strategy firm, to hold 28 focus groups representing 14 distinct demographic groups. Each group delivered an abundance of information for utilization by tobacco prevention programs for education and advocacy in their community.

  • Oregon Air Monitoring Project: The purpose of the Oregon Air Monitoring Project was to examine indoor air quality in a sample of hospitality venues in Oregon, and to assess the relation between indoor air pollution and the presence of on-premise smoking.

CD Summary Newsletters: Tobacco Prevention and Education

The CD Summary is a publication of the Oregon Department of Human Services, Office of Disease Prevention and Epidemiology (ODPE), distributed every two weeks to health care providers and various public health agencies inside and beyond Oregon; media representatives; medical laboratories; hospitals; and other health professionals and institutions. Articles are contributed by staff members of the various programs within ODPE.

Keeping Oregonians Healthy is a statewide report that summarizes information about the burden of chronic diseases and related risk factors among Oregonians. It provides information about how many people in our state are affected by various diseases or conditions that can cause them. It also reviews differences in rates of these conditions by county, by socioeconomic status, and between racial and ethnic communities in the state. Finally, it describes effective strategies through which we can manage and even prevent chronic disease among the state's population.
