Fegley Receives Statewide Corrections Directors' Award

The Oregon Department of Corrections honored outstanding employees at its annual awards ceremony in Salem last week. Among those recognized was Krista Fegley, the Department of Corrections' Classification and Personnel Records manager in Salem. Fegley was selected by Corrections Director Max Williams and Deputy Director Mitch Morrow to receive a Directors' Award.

Fegley was recognized for her outstanding commitment to public safety and the Oregon Department of Corrections.

In presenting the award, Deputy Director Morrow said, "Working very often behind the scenes, Krista has performed a tremendous service to the Department. Correctly classifying positions at the proper salary levels in relation to other agencies and the private sector is important to both our current employees and to those we would recruit to work for the agency.

"Krista goes above and beyond the technical answers to resolve issues. She has the ability to look at specific challenges and decisions not only from a total agency perspective, but also with a compassionate thoughtfulness of the potential impacts on individual employees."

In commending the work of all statewide award recipients, Corrections Director Max Williams said, "We are here to honor the truly outstanding work done by the staff, contractors and volunteers of the Oregon Department of Corrections, some of the best in Oregon state government.

"By working together as individuals and as an agency, we are moving forward with initiatives and projects that help us to better accomplish our mission – to promote public safety by holding offenders accountable for their actions and reducing the risk of future criminal behavior."
