Harry London Candies Issues Nationwide Allergy Alert on Harry London Chocolate Fudge and Peanut Butter Egg Candies

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- North Canton, OH -- March 23, 2007 -- Harry London Candies, Inc., North Canton, OH, is voluntarily recalling 26,794 unitsof Harry London Chocolate Fudge and Peanut Butter Egg confectionery Products because they are not labeled to indicate they contain egg product (egg whites), corn starch, dextrose, Red#40, Yellow #6, Blue #2. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs or egg whites run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume the Products.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date. The Company recently discovered the error during a routine quality assurance process. The Products are topped with a royal icing decoration that was made with egg whites, which ingredient was not stated in the ingredient disclosure label. Please note however, that in all cases the label indicates the Products were manufactured on equipment shared with peanuts, tree nuts, soybeans, milk, eggs, and wheat.

The Products are packaged in 8 ounce and 3.5 ounce packages and have one of the following bar code numbers on them: 2179501083, 2179501084, 2179501085, or 2179501086. The Products were distributed to various distributors, wholesalers and fundraising accounts nationwide. These accounts have been notified by the Company.

Working in cooperation with the FDA, the Company will also issue an alert through The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (www.foodallergy.org). Anyone who has the identified Products with these bar codes in their possession should be aware of this Alert and take appropriate measures. Consumers affected by this Alert should avoid consumption and destroy the Product. Distributors or consumers with questions may contact the Company by calling toll-free 1-800-321-0444Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm EDT and ask for customer service.
