Motorcycle Permit & Endorsement

Motorcycle Instruction Permit
A motorcycle instruction permit authorizes the operation of any motorcycle during daylight hours when under the supervision of a person who is at least 21 years of age, who has a valid license with a motorcycle endorsement, who is riding a separate motorcycle, and is in visual contact with the permit holder.
 
Qualify/Apply
You must apply in person at a DMV office, and you must:
NOTE: There is no fee for the motorcycle endorsement knowledge test.
 
Expiration/Renewal
A motorcycle instruction permit is valid for one year from the date of issuance. A motorcycle instruction permit may be renewed. Renewing the motorcycle instruction permit does not extend the validity of the current permit. If you renew prior to the expiration date of the current permit, it will be valid for one year from the issuance date. If your permit has been expired for more than one year you will be required to successfully complete the knowledge and vision tests and pay all applicable fees.

Motorcycle Endorsement
A motorcycle endorsement authorizes the operation of any size motorcycle.
