A moped (Restricted Class C) driver license authorizes the operation of mopeds only.

| Qualify/Apply |
|
You must apply in person at a DMV office, and you must:
- Be an Oregon resident or domiciled in Oregon;
- Be at least 16 years of age;
- Have no suspended or revoked driving privileges in Oregon or any other state;
- Submit a completed Driver License/ID Card Application, including answering medical questions (All driver license applicants must answer a series of medical questions when applying for an original, renewal or replacement driver license (OAR 735-062-0000(2)). If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, indicating you have a medical condition that makes you unable to drive safely, you are not eligible for a license. DMV will not be able to issue you a license until you have established that your medical condition does not affect your ability to drive safely. To do so, DMV may ask you to provide additional medical information and/or pass additional DMV tests);
- Under 18: Pass a Safe Driving Practices Knowledge Test and obtain a parent or guardian's signature on your application, unless you are married or an emancipated minor;
- Under 18: If applying for an Oregon driving privilege for the first time, you must show proof of school enrollment, completion or exemption;
- Provide proof of your full legal name, every time you apply;
- Provide proof of your legal presence in the U.S., identity and date of birth, every time you apply;
- Provide proof of your Social Security Number (SSN);
- Provide proof of your Oregon residence address;
- Pass the Moped Knowledge Test (All the information necessary to pass the knowledge test is included in the Oregon Motorcycle & Moped Operating Manual and the Oregon Driver Manual);
- Pass a drive test conducted by DMV;
- Pass a vision screening test as defined in OAR 735-062-0050; and
- Pay appropriate testing and issuance fees (See note on payment of test fees).
