Visitor Guidelines
The following guidelines are provided for the safe and secure operation of the institution and for the safety of our visitors. Two Rivers Correctional Institution welcomes inmate visitors.

Directions: East/West on I-84 to I-82 interchange (I-84 Exit 179). Go north approximately 9 miles and take Exit #1 (Umatilla). Turn right at bottom of exit ramp (Hwy 730).  Travel east on Highway 730 for 2.7 miles. Turn left on Beach Access Road.  Turn right onto TRCI Entrance Road.
   
Visiting Hours:
Medium Custody Visiting is normally conducted Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, Medium Custody Visiting will be conducted on all recognized State holidays, including those that occur on Monday and Tuesday.
 
Minimum Custody Visiting is normally conducted Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, Minimum Custody Visiting will be conducted on all State recognized holidays. 
 
           
For the convenience of our Inmate Visitors, TRCI has recently introduced new and improved Visitor check-in practices.  As of 11/30/2005 Visitors have the opportunity to sign in at 7:30 a.m. and/or 12:30 p.m. Registering Visitors as they arrive will determine the order they are checked in, beginning at 7:50 a.m. and 12:50 p.m.

Regretfully, space in our waiting area is limited. Available seating is reserved for elderly Visitors and those who have physical challenges. Following early-arrival registration, other Visitors are asked to return to their vehicles until the appointed check in time.

All visitors will enter the institution through the visitors side of the Gatehouse.  This is the doorway on the right as you face the medium custody facility.  Lockers are provided inside for visitors to deposit personal articles while they are here.  Visitors are subsequently able access the outside security fence entry gate to the institution. A correctional officer or authorized staff member will escort visitors to their destination.  The following guidelines pertain to all persons entering the institution.
1.      All contractors, volunteers, and visitors entering the facility are required to provide sufficient information to conduct a LEDS check prior to their entry.  Friends and family members of inmates must be on the approved list of visitors, as requested by the inmate, prior to access being authorized.   
 
2.       All contractors, volunteers, and visitors approved to enter the institution will provide their driver’s license or other suitable photo as identification to the Gatehouse officer and obtain a facility visitor ID card. 
 
3.      They will also be asked to complete the appropriate facility register when entering. 
 
4.      All visitors entering the facility will be subject to screening devices similar to metal detectors and may be searched as specified in the Department of Corrections rule on Searches (Institutions). 
 
5.      All contractors, volunteers, and visitors will not be allowed to enter the facility in blue denim, which is similar to inmate attire.  All other clothing shall shall be conventional,  non-suggestive or tight-fitting.
 
6.      No person may leave or carry onto the grounds of the facility, explosive devices, firearms, ammunition, alcoholic beverages, narcotics, dangerous drugs, and objects or material of any kind, which might be used to compromise the safety and security of the institution. 
 
7.      All facility visitors, will be under the continual supervision of a TRCI staff person, unless no supervision has been authorized by the superintendent.
 
8.      Except as authorized by the superintendent, no exchange of material will be permitted between an inmate and a visitor entering the facility.  Conversations between inmates and visitors is limited to the authorized areas only.
 
9.      Smoking/tobacco use is prohibited.
