GLERL Research: Organized by Region
The vast majority of GLERL research programs occur within the Great Lakes Drainage Basin, which encompasses at least a portion of each of the midwestern states.
Many GLERL research collaborations are large scale, multi-institution endeavors that span large portions of the Great Lakes Drainage Basin and beyond. While the vast majority of GLERL research programs emphasize studies in the Great Lakes region, GLERL research also includes studying the marine coastal environment throughout the U.S. and the world.
