State Median Income Grows,
Poverty Declines

Census Bureau reports Hawai`i 
among lowest in nation for residents
without health insurance coverage

A recently released Census Bureau report highlights the success of innovative programs implemented by the Lingle-Aiona Administration to help needy individuals and families. Hawai`i was one of only 12 states across the nation that saw a decrease in poverty in the past year and one of five states with the lowest rate of uninsured residents.
