MINT RELEASES PROOF PLATINUM SALES

Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Mint today released preliminary sales figures for the Proof Platinum American Eagle Coins, highlighting the coins still available from the individual one ounce, half-ounce, quarter ounce and tenth ounce denominations. The Mint announced the sellouts of the three-coin Impressions of Liberty™ Set and the Four Coin Set of Proof Platinum American Eagles on June 27, only three weeks after the coins went on sale.

"Because demand for the Impressions of Liberty™ Set and the Four Coin Set resulted in sellouts so quickly, we want to let collectors know they can still own the first platinum coin ever issued by the Mint. But remaining mintages are very limited, especially for the one ounce and tenth-ounce denominations."
