Reported state drug utilization information is available for outpatient drugs paid for by State Medicaid agencies since the inception of the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program.   

For State drug utilization information for years 1991 through and including 2001, please use the data specifications titled, UtilWebLayout1991to2001 (see the "Downloads" section at the bottom of the page).

For State drug utilization information for years 2002 to 2007, please use the data specifications titled, UtilWebLayoutMarch2008 (see the "Downloads" section at the bottom of the page).

For State drug utilization information for year 2008, please use the data specifications titled, UtilWebLayoutAug2008 (see the "Downloads" section at the bottom of the page).

Schedule of Utilization Data Updates to Web:

The State Drug Utilization Data are updated each quarter and posted to the website on the following schedule:

1^st Quarter (plus 5 preceding years of data):      by August 1^st

2^nd Quarter (plus 5 preceding years of data):     by November 1^st

3^rd Quarter (plus 5 preceding years of data):      by February 1^st

4^th Quarter (plus 5 preceding years of data):      by May 1^st

State drug utilization data older than the current quarter plus five previous years of data is updated annually and posted to the website by February 1^st.
