2004 Accountability Report
to the King County Council
Rural Drainage Program
King County's surface water management program identifies, prevents and manages the impacts of development on water runoff such as flooding, erosion, pollution, and low stream flows. King County is required to provide surface water management services by state and federal law and pays for these vital services with a fee assessed on property owners in unincorporated King County.
This report describes the Rural Drainage Program, formed by the extension of the Surface Water Management fee to Eastern King County and Vashon Island. Specific capital project and operational program budgets, accomplishments, and future goals are provided through December 2004.
