Meet the Staff

Charen Ching, Moloka`i / Lana`i Liaison

Charen L. Ching provides support for the neighbor islands of Moloka`i and Lana`i, the Community Advisory Councils, and assists with community inquiries. She is also responsible for coordination between the neighbor island offices. Originally from Maui, she attended Kamehameha Schools. Charen left the islands to attend Marymount College in Salina, Kansas where she received a Bachelor's degree in History and English. She then received a Master's degree in Education at the University of Colorado. She was formerly a secondary school teacher of social sciences in Colorado. In 2001, Charen returned to O`ahu, where she worked for the O`ahu Visitors Bureau.

Services the Governor's Liaison office offers:
· Assist with public information
· Represent the Governor’s administration

Office hours:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
