Morgan County Expansion
The expansion of the Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg, TN is progressing. Construction is complete on many sections of the state-of-the-art complex, including the new checkpoint area and the minimum-security complex which is in the process of being occupied by staff and inmates.
A new initiative to go "green" is also being implemented at MCCX. Staff will have access to bicycles as a way to cut down on motor vehicle use and promote healthy behavior.
Upon completion, the new prison will house more than 2,400 inmates and will lead to the decommissioning of the historic Brushy Mountain Correctional Complex in Petros, TN.
