Health and Hope for Tomorrow

For fifty years, Project HOPE has worked to make health care available for people around the globe – especially children. It’s in our name: Health Opportunities for People Everywhere. From the beginning, when we sent medical volunteers onboard the world’s first peacetime Hospital Ship, the SS HOPE, to our land-based programs today, Project HOPE has been committed to long-term sustainable health care. Our work includes educating health professionals and community health workers, providing medicines and supplies, strengthening health facilities, and fighting diseases such as TB, HIV/AIDS and Diabetes.

USA Basketball Team Members Visit China Earthquake Victims   Taking time out of their preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games, members of the USA Basketball team, including Tayshaun Prince, Michael Redd and Deron Williams and Managing Director Jerry Colangelo, as well as Legends Sam Perkins, Willis Reed and Dominique Wilkins visited the Shanghai Children's Medical Center in early August, meeting  with a child earthquake survivor from the Sichuan Province and offering support to Project HOPE's efforts to improve health in China.
