Subject:      : 3-D reconstructions from Stereo pairs

Hi, I have been asked if I can develop a 3-D view of a structure from a pair of radiographs, which are a stereo pair. The radiographs have been taken by moving the object ( which is a panel made from two sheets of aluminium separated by some aluminium honeycomb) across the field of view of the X-Ray head, in such a way as to have -12, -6, 0, 6 and 12 degrees of tilt. I know this is not the same as tilting the object about a central axis. The stereo pairs work well, you can see the depth in the object. I see that it is possible to generate a 3d view of a surface, using a stereo pair of it. (the image mailing list last week). I also see that the problem becomes more subtle when you have translucent objects, as radiographs provide. We of course can have any number of precise fiducial matching points as the object is pretty well defined geometrically.
