Subject: Volume determination (Biofilms)

Hello, I'm a new ImageJ user (so please be gentle with me) and would like to know if there is a function whereby one can calculate the volume (of a biofilm) from a confocal image stack (perhaps based upon its surface plot?). My aim is to be able compare the 'amount' of biofilm (plaque bacteria). I can kind of get round this by transferring surface plots from ScionImage (via paintbrush of all things) into ImageJ and determining the mean grey value of a section of the image. There has to be a neater, more accurate way of doing this! Thanks in advance, Chris
