New Executive Director of APSE!

APSE: The Network on Employment's Board of Directors is happy to announce the appointment of Laura Owens, PhD to assume the position of Executive Director beginning October 1, 2008.  Laura has worked with the APSE National Office for the past year as Public Policy Fellow while on sabbatical from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She is the founder of Creative Employment Opportunities, Inc. - a supported employment provider agency in Milwaukee - a founding board member of Wisconsin APSE, and a former member of the APSE National Board of Directors.  She succeeds Celane McWhorter, who has agreed to remain on the APSE staff in a part-time advisory capacity to ensure a smooth transition.  Additionally, the APSE national office will relocate from Richmond, VA to the Washington, DC area in the fall.  A press release with more information will follow this announcement.
