Subject:      Calling Menu Commands

I'd like to copy a region from an Image with the size "size x size".
For this new Image I'd like to do the FFT. I tried to do it like this:


ImagePlus new_pic= NewImage.createByteImage ("new_pic", size, size, 1,
NewImage.FILL_WHITE);
                ImageProcessor new_ip = new_pic.getProcessor();
                new_ip.copyBits(ip,0,0,Blitter.COPY);
//                new_pic.unlock();
                IJ.run("FFT");
                new_pic.show();
                new_pic.updateAndDraw();

two problems occurred:
1)        an errormessage, which says that the picture is locked. So I
tried
to unlock it with the commented line, but it didn't work
2)        if I use an gif-File the copied picture is inverted
