These true-color images from NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) show a portion of the eastern hemisphere Antarctic coastline. The image from October 21, 2001, shows several glacier tongues stretching out into the Southern Ocean from the (left to right) Adelie, George V, and Oates Coasts. The image from October 23, 2001, shows a slightly broader view, and shows the coastline farther west, coming very close to the hemisphere boundary: (left to right) Adelie, George V, Oates Coasts, and Pennell Coasts.
