Does the NCCS plan to put UPS on all machines?
Answer:
The NCCS is investigating the possibility of putting the rest of explore on UPS. The NCCS is planning to put all of the new cluster on UPS.
Q2:
Is the new IO file system supposed to be faster?
Answer:
Yes, you should see better performance on the new /nobackup. If you do not, please let the NCCS know so that it can be investigated.
Q3:
What compilers will be on the new cluster?
Answer:
Intel, PGI, Pathscale, Absoft, NAG and GCC.
