DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Organization and maintenance of utilization review, information services and patient records in order to meet the requirements set forth by the administrative rules, and federal and state laws pertaining to medical information.
  • Act as the expert for the Health Services Division by representing the Division in meeting with the public; hospital staff or other government employees to provide services related to medical records issues.
  • Analyze medical records for completeness and quality of documentation, using established criteria; perform utilization review on medical records; coordinate with staff and physicians to review medical records.
  • Provide statistical and analytical data in order to assist in maintaining a medical records services continuous quality improvement program; recommend changes when indicated and serve on the Medical Record, Utilization Review, Quality Improvement and Morbidity and Mortality Committees.
  • Responsible for all DOC parole charts, reissue when re-incarcerated; purge and microfiche when due; all DOC dental x-rays and all other x-rays.
