Subject: interference filter plugin

Does anybody know of plugins that could act as tunable band-pass filters on an RGB image? In other words, the plugin would select (or discard) pixels whose color resultant (from RGB values) is between two predefined wavelengths of the visible spectrum (much as the fluorescence microscopy interference emission filters do). A nice feature would be to tune the width of the selected window and to move it through the spectrum. Thanks.
