Subject: Update on TurboReg

An updated version of plugin TurboReg is now available at http://bigwww.epfl.ch/thevenaz/turboreg/. This fixes a minor bug regarding 16-bit images, which I mentioned in my message of 28 May. TurboReg is a plugin for image registration, which I have found to be very useful. It only registers gray scale images, however, and does not register stacks. I would like to clear up a point of confusion. After some correspondence with Dr. Thévenaz, I discovered that I was mistaken about the use of registration masks, and I may have mislead some users. A mask can be added to either image, as a second slice. A zero value in EITHER mask prevents that portion of the corresponding image from being used for registration. Thus, a mask on the target image can be used to register a series of images to the target image, using the same mask for each registration. What I found confusing, however, is that the mask on the output image is the warped SOURCE image mask, and is not necessarily the final mask used for registration.
