To simulate an eraser tool, hold down the backspace key (delete key on the Mac) as you move a rectangular or oval ROI (region of interest). Backspace is the keyboard shortcut for the Edit->Clear command. Alt-click in the Image->Colors window to change the background color or use the Edit->Options->Background Color command. -wayne
