This orientation provides an opportunity for family and friends to have questions answered: incarceration of a family member or friend is a confusing, stressful event.  Working in partnership with your loved one and DOC to make the best use of this time will benefit your loved one, you, and the community.

Participants will learn:

About the Department of Corrections:
  • The department’s mission
  • What incarceration is like for your loved one
  • How to stay in touch: mail, phone calls, visits

About Oregon CURE:
  • Supporting your loved one during incarceration
  • Getting involved to work for better outcomes
  • Support yourself – you are not alone!
Who or what is Oregon CURE?
A non-profit organization of inmates’ family members and friends…
who advocate for fair and effective corrections policies and practices…
who have been there – angry, sad, confused, scared – wondering what now?

ASK YOUR QUESTIONS AND HAVE THEM ANSWERED!
