New Name for the Federal Food Stamp Program

Beginning October 1, 2008, the federal Food Stamp agency, Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), will change the name of the Food Stamp Program to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Idaho and several other states will continue to refer to this program as the Food Stamp Program. After October 1, you will begin seeing and hearing about SNAP. Please note that SNAP and the Food Stamp Program is the same program.
