Governor Blagojevich created the Homeland
Security Market Development (HSMD) Bureau within the
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO)
to attract, support and engage businesses in the homeland
security industry.
HSMD offers a variety of financial tools specifically
intended to foster the growth of the homeland security
industry, by supporting new and existing Illinois businesses
engaged in the homeland security market.
|
The Homeland Security
Market Development Innovative Product Grant (IPG)
Program |
|
IPG funds are intended to accelerate the
commercialization, improvement and production of goods
and services with an application in homeland security
and a dual use in another commercial sector. |
|
|
IPG funds are intended to help generate employment
growth and produce economic activity in Illinois by
helping companies, partnerships and joint venture agents
complete milestone projects that will directly catalyze
the production or application of goods and services that
are either ready-for-market or in the later stages of
development. |
|
|
IPG provides funding* for innovative homeland
security products and services that can be developed,
produced, commercialized or delivered from Illinois. |
|
* A dollar for-dollar private
capital match is required of all applicants.
