TSA Chicago Employees Recognized for Excellence

News & Happenings

August 10, 2007

Two TSA employees at Chicago O’Hare – Bill Stover and George Prescott – were recognized at a recent Federal Employee of the Year Luncheon.

About 1 percent of the 72,000 federal employees in the Chicago area, including Stover, Prescott and 19 other TSA employees from O’Hare, were nominated for awards.

Stover, an industrial engineer, was named Outstanding Professional Employee for managing the TSA team that supported baggage screening construction. His redesign of the baggage screening system for International Terminal 5 will save TSA $10 million in equipment and $1 million in yearly maintenance. The new design requires fewer employees and saves space in a busy ticketing area, improving passenger processing.

Stakeholder Liaison Prescott was one of three finalists for Outstanding Public Contact Employee, recognized for his rapport with stakeholders, including air carriers, airport management and contract personnel.
