Inside Transportation for July-August 2005  

Inside Transportation is a half-hour program designed to help you understand how the King County Department of Transportation serves the public and how to take advantage of the transportation options available to you.  It is a presentation of the King County Department of Transportation Public Affairs Unit. "Inside Transportation" airs on King County Civic Television (KCTV) Tuesday nights at 5 p.m., Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., and various other times during the week.

Saving water The King County Department of Transportation has made water conservation a priority for more than a decade. With drought a possibility this summer, D-O-T divisions have added a few new wrinkles to their efforts that will save the county water and money.

Park-and-Ride lot expansion – King County Metro Transit has added thousands of new park-and-ride spaces around the county, and is building a new garage in the Issaquah Highlands.  Find out the latest on park-and-ride lot growth and how they help reduce traffic on our freeways and arterial roads.

Photo: Metro Transit planner on bus A day in the life – Planning and managing Metro Transit's hundreds of bus routes requires a variety of skills and puts you in contact with transit users from all walks of life. Meet a Metro Transit Planner who developed a knack for his job when he was ten years old and is now working in his "dream job."
