Inside Transportation for December 2005 and January 2006  

Inside Transportation is a half-hour program designed to help you understand how the King County Department of Transportation serves the public and how to take advantage of the transportation options available to you.  It is a presentation of the King County Department of Transportation Public Affairs Unit. "Inside Transportation" airs on King County Civic Television (KCTV) Tuesday nights at 5 p.m., Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., and various other times during the week.

Snow job King County Roads crews begin planning for the first snowfall of winter months in advance.  When the first snow of the season hit the ground in early December, crews not only kept roads clear, but assisted stranded motorists.

Recycling – King County is a national leader in recycling. The Department of Transportation is doing it's share, with efforts that include turning tree trimmings into mulch for plantings, to reusing broken glass from bus shelters. Join us for a discussion of recyclable products and their uses.

Photo: Waterfront Streetcar move Waterfront Streetcar hiatus– Metro Transit's Waterfront Streetcar is taking a break, while it waits for its new maintenance barn to be built in Pioneer Square. Find out how the vintage cars were moved and stored and about the new free bus service that will fill in until the streetcars return .
