December 2003
Inside Transportation is a half-hour program designed to help you understand how the King County Department of Transportation serves the public and how to take advantage of the transportation options available to you. It is a presentation of the King County Department of Transportation Public Affairs Unit. "Inside Transportation" airs on King County Civic Television (CTV) Tuesday nights at 5 p.m., Wednesday mornings at 5 a.m., and various other times during the week.

Taking winter by storm. We've already seen flooding, snow and record winds in 2003. What's in store for the rest of the winter? The King County Department of Transporation has several tools available to residents to help stay on top of severe weather and to find out the latest road closures and Metro Transit schedule changes.

Budget challenges. King County adopted a budget for 2004, but the loss of vehicle license fee money from initiative 776 means the Roads Division will have to revise its construction and maintenance plans for the New Year. Find out how the new budget impacts the Roads Division, Metro Transit, King County International Airport and the Fleet Services Division.

Safe at home. Got a road safety issue in your neighborhood? King County's Neighborhood Traffic Safety Program has tools and information available to help parents, drivers and pedestrians in unincorporated areas make their neighborhoods safer for everyone. |
We've got the power. King County Metro Transit has switched on its new electrical substation, providing 3 million watts of power to drive its electric trolley's into the 21st century.
