Uzbek FLEX Alumna Continues Civic Activism With Video Dedicated to Helping Students With Disabilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan -- Sitora, an alumna of the Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX), worked with iEARN and Global Connections and Exchange (GCE) to create an informational video in an initiative to help students with disabilities. Sitora volunteers at a site on her university campus that provides educational opportunities for students with disabilities. The video, which is viewable on Youtube , shows some students gathering at a school where they are involved in various educational activities with one another. Students with disabilities who are unable to leave their homes have received laptop donations and access to the internet. Teachers volunteer to visit these students regularly and communicate with them online so that they can keep up with specific subjects.

As evidenced by the video, many alumni of FLEX, GCE and other youth programs continue their commitment to civic activism by partnering with non-governmental organizations after returning from their exchange to their local communities.
