Making Learn More Breathe Better Work for You

The Learn More Breathe Better campaign of the NHLBI and its more than 20 partners are pleased to offer the following campaign resources for use in state COPD programs across the US. If ordered in sufficient quantity, these materials can be customized and localized for your regional use.

Fact Sheet for At-risk Individuals – information on understanding the disease and its risk factors as well as where to go for help.

Fact Sheet for Diagnosed Patients – information on understanding the condition and how to take steps to breathe easier and live better.

Educational Video – profiling the personal experiences of three people diagnosed with COPD, this DVD answers basic questions about the disease and its risk factors and demonstrates how real people took steps to manage the disease and breathe easier. A useful tool for educating those at-risk for the disease, the video can be used for community-based information seminars, health and wellness events and shows, and in health care provider offices or waiting rooms.

Radio PSAs – 60 and 30 second spots of the following PSAs:

  • Can't Sing: humorous spot where a country music singer finds difficulty singing with his coughing and shortness of breath
  • Stock Car: air flow is an important element for stock cars as well as people
  • My Story: a woman explains her struggle with shortness of breath, and subsequent COPD diagnosis
  • Sound Like You?: coughing and wheezing, if it sounds like you, you may have COPD

Print PSA: “It Has a Name”* – creative identifies many common symptoms that comprise COPD.

Speaker’s Guide – including PowerPoint presentations for both healthcare professional and patient/at-risk audiences, talking points, and much more.

Reference Card – for Healthcare Professionals - a pocket-sized reference card that provides an overview of risk factors, diagnosis information, and treatment options.
