WASHINGTON, Nov 26, 2002 - Risk Management Agency (RMA) Administrator Ross J. Davidson announced the appointment of Ann Jorgensen as the Director of External Affairs at USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA).

"Ann's skills are very well suited to her new position," said Davidson. "RMA is a dynamic, growing program and her experience as a farm business partner, Federal regulator and commodity broker will ensure that the interests of the people we serve remain at the heart of our work."

Prior to her appointment, Mrs. Jorgensen was one of three-members of the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) Board. The FCA, an independent Federal agency, is responsible for the regulation and examination of the Farm Credit System. She also served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Farm Credit System Insurance Corporation since January 2000.

Back home in Iowa, Mrs. Jorgensen served six years as a member of the State's Board of Regents and as a board member for the Iowa Department of Economic Development and chair of the Iowa Rural Development Council.

Mrs. Jorgensen holds a B.A. from the University of Iowa.
