The Wichita Regional Office provides VA benefits and services to approximately 242,000 veterans throughout the State of Kansas and oversees a benefits delivery program that awards more than $273 million in compensation and pension payments annually.

The Wichita Regional Office is co-located on VA grounds with the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. The Regional Office is located in building 61 at the northwest corner of the VA complex. The Regional Office and Medical Center work closely together to provide “one stop” service to Kansas veterans and their beneficiaries. Due to the large number of veterans residing in the eastern half of the state, the Regional Office also has out based offices at the VA Medical Center in Topeka, KS with a military services coordinator and a counseling psychologist and the VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, KS with a field examiner. An additional counseling psychologist is out based in Emporia, KS.

The Wichita Regional Office also provides assistance and briefings to three major military installations in the State of Kansas. These are McConnell AFB (Wichita), Ft. Leavenworth (Leavenworth), and Ft. Riley (Junction City).
