Agenda (Updated: 13 July 2000)
Hello all,
Please find enclosed the agenda for our upcoming Workshop. In trying to
plan the workshop, we thought that organizing discussions into
relatively small working groups would be a useful exercise. The four
groups and their workshop coordinators are (not necessarily in order of
importance)
- Physical processes (Dave Kingsmill: davidk@sage.dri.edu)
- Modeling (J.-W. Bao: Jian-Wen.Bao@noaa.gov)
- Operational interactions (Warren Blier: Warren.Blier@noaa.gov)
- Observing systems (Marty Ralph: Marty.Ralph@noaa.gov)
The idea is to get a head start on some discussion within each of these
groups prior to the meeting. Then at the meeting, each of the working
groups will convene separately for a short time to refine ideas.
Finally, a summary of discussion from each working group will be
presented to all meeting attendees in plenary to allow for integration
of ideas and concepts and then to figure out how to design and execute
the experiment. This information will all be used to produce a
scientific overview and operations plan for PACJET.
Although presentations are not emphasized at the workshop, it would be
prudent to bring along a few transparencies to help illustrate key
points you want to raise within the working group you choose to join.
While many of us have interest and expertise in more that one working
group topic, we all will be able to discuss all issues in the plenary
sessions. It would be useful to submit to the appropriate working group
coordinator by 30 June ideas and key issues you feel need to be
addressed by that group.
Also, please consider bringing electronic copies of key figures you have
that you think could be included in the operations plan.
We look forward to seeing you in Boulder!
Sincerely,
Marty Ralph and Dave Kingsmill
