CALJET Workshop

Synopsis: | As part of the transition from the field phase
of the CALJET experiment to the analysis phase, a workshop is being convened to bring
together participants from the field program as well as other interested people. In
addition to those who participated directly in CALJET or NORPEX, several forecasters and
hydrologists from California will summarize their experiences this winter, and experts on
the relationship between El Nino and California precipitation will present some thoughts
on that important issue. The goals of the workshop are to: |

Location: | Regal Harvest House Hotel, 1345 28th St., Boulder, CO |
Lodging: | The Regal Harvest House is providing a limited number of
rooms for CALJET Workshop attendees at the allowable Govt. per diem rate of $92 (including
tax), well below the going rate for a nice hotel in Boulder at this time of year. To reserve rooms at the Regal Harvest House participants will need to call either (303)443-3850 or (800)545-6285, ask for reservations and indicate they will be with the "CALJET Workshop". The $92/night rate does include tax and is available only for the nights of June 8, 9, and 10. If anyone would want to stay either Sunday or Thursday the rate would be higher. The DEADLINE for this reduced rate is Friday May 22nd-make your reservations now. |
Transportation: | Transportation to and from the airport and hotel is available from the "Airporter," (303-444-0808) which leaves DIA every hour on the hour (8AM-11PM). They are located at baggage level 5, across from Hertz, and no reservations are needed. It takes about 1 h 15 min to the Harvest House, and costs $14. A rental car is not really needed in Boulder. |

Program: | Agenda A western-style BBQ picnic dinner at a covered group picnic site with hiking options nearby is being planned for Tuesday late afternoon and evening (details will follow; cost should be less than $14 per person and family is welcome). |
