If Any of Your Earnings are Shown Incorrectly

Only you know all the places and times you worked and how much you earned.

If your record is not complete, please let us know right away so we can help you correct it. If it is available, please have your W-2 or tax return handy when you call us at 1-800-772-1213. (If you are deaf or hard of hearing, call our TTY number, 1-800-325-0778.) Please remember that your earnings for last year may still be in process and so may not yet appear on your record. (Your earnings for the current year won't be reported to us until next year.)

If nothing is posted for a year in which you know you worked, please contact us even if you do not have your W-2 or tax return. Those forms would help us make the correction faster, but we may be able to search our records using the information you can give us about your employer's business name and address. If you would rather take your records to your local Social Security office, you can find the location of the office serving your area, here.
