The call will cover the recent competitive renewable energy zones (CREZ) order from the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC) and a transmission proposal now under development by the Southwest Power Pool's Regional State Committee.

In August, the Texas PUC issued an order approving a nearly $5 billion plan to construct 2,400 miles of transmission lines that will accommodate over 18 GW of wind capacity, just 1,000 MW shy of the current installed wind capacity in the United States. Jess Totten of the Texas PUC will be on hand to talk about the order and to discuss next steps in the Texas CREZ process. In addition, the Southwest Power Pool's Regional State Committee is developing a proposal creating a designated wind resource for transmission service to serve network load customers. Mike Proctor of the Missouri Public Service Commission will be on the call to discuss the proposal.
